1. SOMM
Great insight into the strenuous studies to become a Master Sommelier. A little neurotic but still fun. Four sommeliers attempt to pass the prestigious Master Sommelier exam, a test with one of the lowest pass rates in the world. Pour yourself a glass of your favourite wine and enjoy.

2. Cowspiracy
Produced by Leonardo Di Caprio this documentary Cowspiracy: The Sustainability Secret is a groundbreaking feature-length environmental documentary following intrepid filmmaker Kip Andersen as he uncovers the most destructive industry facing the planet today – and investigates why the world’s leading environmental organizations are too afraid to talk about it.

3. A Year in Burgundy
Seven families discuss the cultural and creative process of making wine in the Burgundy region of France. This film allows you to travel to Burgundy, France and experience life through the vignerons. The scenery is a beautiful. You may want to pour a glass of Pinot Noir to enjoy this one.

4. A Year in Champagne
Burgundian/Californian wine importer Martine Saunier gives a rare glimpse behind the scenes into the real Champagne. Visiting six Champagne producing houses, from small independent makers to the illustrious houses of Gosset and Bollinger.

5. Chef’s Table
Chef’s Table goes inside the lives and kitchens of six of the world’s most renowned international chefs. Each episode focuses on a single chef and their unique look at their lives, talents and passion from their piece of culinary heaven. These chefs are artistic geniuses and it’s a real treat to see inside their worlds.

6. Chocolat
A woman and her daughter open a chocolate shop in a small French village that shakes up the rigid morality of the community.

7. The Mind of a Chef
World famous Chef David Chang, along with his friends, explore, explain and enjoy food from around the world. Narrated by Anthony Bourdain.

8. Food Matters
Food Matters examines how the food we eat can help or hurt our health. Nutritionists, naturopaths, doctors, and journalists weigh in on topics organic food, food safety, raw foodism, and nutritional therapy.

9. Chew On This (Part of the Ted Talks)
A series of 14 amazing episodes relating to food. Guest speakers include the inspiring Jamie Oliver, Mark Bittman and Dan Barber. Very insightful and it will make you think about the world we live in.

10. Mondovino
This last one is not on Netflix, but if it does get offered it is one of my favourite movies about the wine industry. It is over 10 years old now but still very relevant. It is also available through Indigo and Amazon.
